Jodo’s 2025 Wrapped
From fee collection to powering recurring payments across India — here’s how we did it, what we learned, and what’s next.
Jodo is almost six years old now.
What started as a mission to turn education payments into something as easy as setting up your Hotstar–Netflix subscription had a big year in 2025.
As of December 2025, Jodo works with 5,000+ institutes across India — schools, colleges, universities, coaching centres, and even personal coaches who run their business from WhatsApp.
And if 2025 is any sign, this education dhurandhar is only warming up.
So here’s a quick rewind of the year — what worked, what surprised us, what we learned, and why we’re more excited than ever.
Why 2025 was a turning point
Let’s be honest, education payments are messy.
Education fees are never one-time. They’re made up of multiple components — recurring and one-off, fixed and variable. Fees change mid-year, discounts and scholarships kick in, refunds follow, and instalment payments come in — often tracked through nothing more than a UPI screenshot from weeks ago.
Now imagine solving that at scale.
That’s been Jodo’s life for years. And to make it work, we had to obsess over the boring stuff:
- Auto-debits that don’t randomly fail
- Reconciliation that doesn’t involve 12 Excel sheets
- Collections that happen on time, without daily follow-ups
By 2025, all that effort started showing results.
Institutes weren’t just collecting fees anymore — they were predicting cash flows, reducing follow-ups, and sleeping better during fee season.
For many of them, fee collection went from daily headache to a background system that just works.
Scale & Impact
2025 was also the year Jodo scaled — quietly at first, and then decisively.
We expanded both locally and globally, helping institutes of every size modernise how they collect fees. On one end of the spectrum, Jodo enabled small schools in towns like Aurangabad, Bishambharpur, and Ballari to move away from manual follow-ups and spreadsheets.
On the other hand, we supported IITs and leading institutions in collecting fees seamlessly from international students across geographies.
Some standout moments:
- Medical courses with fees touching ₹1 crore, smoothly collected in instalments using Jodo Flex
-
Individual coaches scaling faster because payments stopped being a bottleneck
Exclusive: From personal coaching to a ₹10 Cr brand — how Flex helped one of India’s top life coaches scale
- Enabled fee payments for 2M+ students across 5,000+ institutes, making education more accessible without compromising on collection efficiency.
Jodo Flex, in particular, saw strong adoption across high-value, long-duration programs. The insight was clear: flexibility wasn’t a nice-to-have feature anymore — it had become a fundamental requirement.
Events like DIDAC 2025 made this real.
Speaking to thousands of education leaders from across the country and hearing how Flex have helped them, gave us both confidence and fuel.
And just when things seemed to be settling into a rhythm, the plot twist arrived.
Product launch: Collect
We realised the problems we’d been solving weren’t “education problems” at all. They were recurring payment problems. Missed EMIs. Failed mandates. Manual reminders. Reconciliation chaos.
Education just happened to be the toughest training ground.
That insight led to the launch of Collect in September 2025.
Collect wasn’t a pivot — it was an unlock.
Everything we had built for schools and colleges worked just as well for:
- Jewellers running gold savings schemes
- Mobile & electronics retailers offering EMIs
- Freelancers and agencies collecting monthly retainers
- Microfinance, co-operative societies, and small businesses managing recurring payments on WhatsApp
Within weeks of launch, thousands of merchants started using Collect to:
- Set up auto-debit via UPI Autopay & eNACH
- Eliminate awkward follow-ups
- Get paid on time, every time
Same problem. Different industries. Same solution.
Education is still home. 2025 just showed us how far the house could extend.
What 2025 taught us
Launching Collect reinforced something we’d suspected for a while: recurring payments are everywhere — but reliability and trust matter even more outside education.
It reminded us that the problem is big, the stakes are real, and there’s still so much left to build.
So… What now?
2025 wasn’t just about growth. It was about clarity.
Education remains Jodo’s core. But the systems we’ve built — automation, reliability, scale — are now powering recurring payments well beyond classrooms.
If this year taught us anything, it’s this:
Solve one hard problem really well, and it opens doors you didn’t even know existed.
And honestly? We’re just getting started.
